Glorify

Our Primary Life Purpose is to glorify God … that is to worship Him and bring Him pleasure! At St. Luke’s we set out to do this through our everyday lives as we strive to honour God in all that we do. But every Sunday we also gather to worship God together.

Because God is the focus of our worship we try to provide diverse opportunities for people to worship the Lord in ways they can relate to best.

8:30am Traditional Worship

We have a rich heritage of worship as a Methodist Church and the early service on a Sunday taps into this heritage as a framework for our worship. We sing the ancient and well-loved Methodist Hymns and follow a traditional order of worship. On average the attendance is about 130 people. Holy Communion is celebrated every first Sunday of the month.

9:45am Contemporary Worship

At this service we use contemporary worship music from the best writers around the world. Our two worship teams lead worship on a rotation basis and a time of praise and worship is followed by Biblical teaching and preaching. This is a very lively, friendly and family-focussed service. On average about 200 people attend this service. Holy Communion is also celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. At the same time there is Children’s Church (pre-school to Grade 7) and Surrender (Teen Church).

6:00pm Informal Service

This is a growing service of worship with about 100 people attending it at the moment. It is also led by our worship teams but worship is informal and we seek to flow as the Holy Spirit leads us. We have times of free singing and there are always opportunities for the ministry of the Holy Spirit to take place. We celebrate Holy Communion together on the first Sunday of each month.

Healing Services

On every 3rd Sunday of the month all 3 services are officially healing services, and the ministry team is on duty to specifically pray for anyone in need.
