The Tabernacle

The most important ministry of all at St. Luke’s is our prayer ministry in the Prayer Room we have dubbed the “Tabernacle”. Members of the Church book hourly slots in the Tabernacle and then spend their hour worshipping the Lord, interceding for the needs of others and quietly waiting on God. We aim to cover 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and are presently covering approximately 60-70 hours every week. Anyone who loves the Lord is welcome to sign up and minister to others through praying for them.

Prayer requests can be sent through to the Tabernacle via SMS (Text) only to 072 518 6819. You can also check our our Tabernacle Blog at www.stlukestabernacle.wordpress.com

Clinic

Our Clinic currently operates every Wednesday morning from 9am-12noon. Destitute people and those living on the street come to the Clinic for help with basic health problems, grant applicationsĀ and for food and clothing support. They are helped by a team of volunteers. We are wanting to extend this ministry soon to include a Voluntary Counselling and Testing Centre for HIV/AIDS.

Caring Hands

A team of volunteers helps the elderly with practical tasks they can no longer handle. From leaky taps to creaky chairs to squeaky doorhandles … all are handled with loving care.

Ministry Team

Once a month all three of our Sunday services are Healing Services at which we lay hands on people, anoint them with oil, and pray for their healing in accordance with God’s Word. A team of trained volunteers handles this ministry.

In House

Ladies with a flair for interior decorating are invited to join the team who are responsible for beautifying the interior of the Church’s buildings.

Intercessory Prayer

With prayer being such a major focus for St. Luke’s it is no surprise to find that there are a number of weekly prayer meetings:

  • Monday at 8:30am: Staff prayer meeting
  • Wednesday 9am: Prayer meeting to pray forĀ the sick.
  • Thursday 6am: Prayer meeting at 357 Stateway to pray for the City.
  • Friday 5pm: Hour of Power Prayer meeting for REVIVAL at St. Luke’s.
  • Sunday at 7:30am: Leaders’ Prayer Meeting every 2nd week.
