Thanksgiving
Please thank the Lord for answered prayer:
- Financial Provision for both Mission India and Mission Russia in the first half of the year.
- Very successful ministry by our teams in both nations.
- Great relationship-building for both the Clarkes and the Jacksons during those missions.
- The excitement and faith the Lord has imparted to the children in both families.
- The support and belief of the members of St. Luke’s.
- The relationship established during Mission India with Pastor Sunny Pillay’s Church (called “Wayside Chapel”) in
Umzinto; and a successful Mission Congress there led by Cliff Clarke.
Mission Week: 11-15 September
We are thrilled to announce that Mission Week is going ahead in a slightly streamlined
format, thanks to the Lord’s late provision of finance from a private anonymous
donor. While Christian and Ando will not be joining us, Pastor Lucky and Norma
will be making the trip out to South Africa from India. They will minister at
St. Luke’s throughout the week of 11-18 September and attend the family Camp
with us.
Please pray for:
- Norma’s health: She has recently had a gall bladder operation. The doctors have given her the go-ahead to travel but
please pray for good health and blessing. - All the practical arrangements to go smoothly; viz. visa applications, travel arrangements, etc.
- The ministry of the Shalom Churches and Asian Outreach to be richly blessed while they are away.
- The arrangements for Mission Week to be everything the Lord would want them to be and for an excitement at St.
Luke’s for this very special week of ministry. - Interest from other churches in Welkom to attend and discover more about mission in India.
The Jacksons depart for America and Russia
The family will leave St. Luke’s on 22 August. Their ultimate destination
will be St. Petersburg, but they will first go through a training phase at
Bethel Church in Redding, California. They will then visit South Africa in May
2012 before departing for their ministry in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Please pray for:
- The remaining financial support to be provided; viz. Bethel School Fees and monthly support.
- Their hearts and minds to be prepared for everything they will receive spiritually while at Bethel.
- The children to continue to be excited and faith-filled.
- God to go beyond their wildest expectations!
Mission Madagascar 2011: 1 – 8 Oct.
The planning and preparation for mission Madagascar is well underway. Team members
are doing well with their payment of team fees and all of the arrangements are
falling into place. The team will be visiting Christian and Ando Prince in
Bakaro, Madagascar and will be ministering in the local town and villages, as
well as helping with more practical improvements to the mission base.
Please pray for:
- The remaining financial support to be
provided for every team member. - The team training and preparation to
be effective. - A strong team spirit and unity in
diversity among the team. - God’s protection, both physically and
spiritually, over the whole team, now and during the mission. - The Lord’s direction as the team plans
their mission activities and daily schedules.
The Clarke’s depart for India
The Clarke family still aim to be departing for their permanent mission to India at
the end of this year. This will entail them living and working in Siliguri as
they minister under the leadership of Pastor Lucky Karthak. Currently the
struggle is to obtain entry into India, to raise financial support and to tie
up details of their work there.
Please pray for:
- Financial support for the family now and once they have left SA.
- The Lord’s wisdom and discernment of the best way to gain visas for India.
- Clear direction for their work in India.
