Transformed by the Risen Jesus

Yesterday we looked at John 20 and marvelled at the power of the Risen Jesus to transform people. We saw how He took the disciples from :

• Fear to Peace and Joy; and
• Aimlessness to Mission

And we also saw how He took Thomas from:

• Doubt to faith; and
• Skepticism to Worship

We then realised that although Jesus gave the victory shout of “It is finished” on the Cross, that does not mean that His work in our lives is finished. His work as the Word made Flesh may well have been completed, but His Ministry as our Saviour and Lord continues. Whereas He was faithful and revealed the glory of God’s power and love completely through His life … NOW He wants to reveal that same glory through us and through our being transformed by Him.

The key to our own transformation, and thus to the Lord’s glory being revealed through us is as simple as it was for the disciples: And encounter with the Risen Jesus. As it has been throughout the book of John, the solution offered to life is … Jesus … and a real relationship with Him. More Jesus = more transformation! So rather than seeking transformation, seek Jesus.
